Blood pressure chart

How to make your own  blood pressure chart

Creating a blood pressure chart for use at home or for sharing with your family
doctor or heart specialist is easy.   At it's most basic all you need to do is  to
keep a sheet of paper with two columns. Use one column to keep a note of
the systolic level - thats the higher number of the two, and use the second
column for the lower number or diastolic reading. Take your readings at the
same time of day each day - and use extra ones for times when you feel you
have blood pressure symptoms.

You or your doctor will easily spot any patterns or trends - just by looking at the
raw number data. If you want you can show the numbers on a graph or chart.

Some people prefer to purchase a supply of graph paper or paper with
squares on it to create their own blood pressure chart.

Make a line or an axis up the left side of the page and start your numbers from
fifty - going up in regular intervals up to about two hundred. Make another line
along the bottom and use this to mark off spaces for dates.

At each date all you need to do is mark the two blood pressure readings on
the chart - one above the other. The higher one is the systolic reading and the
lower one is the diastolic. Check out the picture below for an example.

Some software programs are available that can automate all this for you and
will produce blood pressure chart reports at the click of the mouse button.
