There is really no such thing as one normal blood pressure reading. It's much
more appropriate to think of a range of blood pressure readings that fall within
normal levels.

so later.
High blood pressure occurs when the systolic number is greater than 140 and
the lower number is greater than 90 - although rarely it is possible for the diastolic
pressure to be normal, leaving only the systolic level elevated. This form of high
blood pressure is called "isolated systolic hypertension."
Low blood pressure is said to occur when the systolic pressure is less than 90
and the diastolic pressure is less than 60
What this means of course is that the normal blood pressure range lies with a
systolic reading between 90 and 140 and a diastolic reading between 60 and 90.
Blood pressure readings vary in the normal blood pressure range during the course of the day and
depending on activity or stress levels.
It's helpful to get accustomed to the idea of a range of blood pressures - particularly if you are going to
purchase a home monitor. If you get fixated on only one set of numbers being normal then you are likely to
worry without reason.
